Description

Antique Persian Enamel Vase from Esfahan, Iran, represents a stunning example of traditional Persian craftsmanship. Esfahan, a city renowned for its rich history and cultural heritage, is particularly famous for its intricate enamel work, known as "Minakari" or "Meenakari". This art form, practiced in Iran for centuries, involves the meticulous hand-painting of detailed designs on metal surfaces, typically copper, using vibrant, long-lasting enamels.

An enamel vase from Esfahan would likely feature elaborate and colorful floral, geometric, or sometimes figurative patterns that are iconic in Persian art. These designs are often created with deep blues, reds, greens, and white, set against a lustrous surface. The painstaking technique involves firing the enamel after each layer is applied, creating a glossy, durable finish that can last for generations.
