The Beatles' "I Want to Hold Your Hand" was originally released in the UK on Parlophone R 5084 in 1963. The Apple label, founded by The Beatles in 1968, did not handle the original releases of their early singles. Therefore, a 45 RPM single of "I Want to Hold Your Hand" on the Apple label with catalog number #5112 is highly unusual and may be a later pressing or a special release.

In the United States, the single was released on Capitol Records with catalog number 5112. Original pressings of this single, especially those with picture sleeves, are highly collectible.
