This vintage children’s novel is extensively illustrated with black-and-white artwork and full-page colour plates by Wiese. This copy retains its original illustrated dust jacket, an important feature for a book of this age.

The hardcover book remains presentable, but the original dust jacket is in poor/fair condition, with substantial paper loss around the upper spine, tears, chipping, edge wear, toning and general age-related wear. Pages show expected age toning and some spotting. There is a handwritten gift inscription on the front endpaper reading “To Peggy with love from Aubrey, Dec. 25, 1935.”
