Authentic vintage Brutalist sun face wall sculpture handcrafted by the Benedictine monks of Talleres Emaús in Cuernavaca, Mexico, circa 1960s–1970s.
This striking Mid-Century Modern wall piece features a dramatic dual-face sun/moon design with deeply textured hand-worked metal surfaces, alternating flame and spike rays, and expressive sculptural detailing throughout. The heavy artisan construction, visible weld work, and aged brass-toned patina give the piece exceptional presence and authenticity.
The reverse retains the original stamped “EMAUS” maker’s mark, confirming production by the renowned Emaús Monastic Workshops, known for handcrafted Brutalist ecclesiastical and decorative metalwork during the mid-century period.
An outstanding statement piece for Mid-Century Modern, Brutalist, Santa Fe, desert-modern, or eclectic vintage interiors.
Condition is very good vintage condition with age-appropriate patina, oxidation, surface wear, and irregularities consistent with handcrafted artisan metalwork. No major structural damage observed. Displays exceptionally well.
